I loved the photos, many of which I’ve never seen before. One can never get enough of the elusive Pimpernel. Being just south of 70 myself, I shall nevertheless try to hang around through 2025 when those classified documents concerning Leslie’s death will finally be declassified and released & I won’t be the least surprised if Herr Goebbels (and possibly others) had a hand in it.
As for now, I shall continue to take comfort in the renued interest that seems to be growing and sprouting everywhere for the “inafferrabile” Leslie. By the way, “inafferrabile,” I looked it up in Webster’s dictionary to no avail. So, what is it supposed to mean???
Intrepid
“Inafferrabile” is an Italian word; it means “which can’t be caught”. A possible English translation is “elusive”, though the meaning is not exactly the same.
